DIRECTOR- Stacey C. Larsen Stafki, M.Ed.

Stacey is the founder and sole proprieter for SeedSpring.  Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised with corn-growing roots in her family, Stacey recognizes the value of local, fresh, seasonal foods.  Through her personal experiences, having grown-up in a supportive community, she appreciates the value of cooperation, social justice, and necessity for a nuturing environment for children.  An ethic of community stewardship developed within Stacey as result of continued exposure to natural areas, support of caring adults, and study of outdoor recreation.  Her Master's in Education from Western Washington University gave her further perspective to effectively teach youth and adults about the environment.  Her work as a graduate student with North Cascades Institute's Foodshed initiative provided more of the fuel for her passion to reach people and share the benefits of the Earth for this generation and the next.  Her work developing and running NCI's first Family Getaways as well as her expereince as Education Coordinator for University of Rhode Island's W. Alton Jones overnight education programs for school kids allowed her to understand that the seamless opperation of programs for youth and families requires a special eye for risk management, timing and keeping an eye on the bigger picture.  Her recent work with Oympic Park Institute as a natural history/science educator deepended her love and understanding of the history and nature of the Olympic Penninsula.  Lastly and most importantly her love of her family, life and red hair give her an excuse to laugh and be silly.
